Norooz Foundation has no paid staff and no office. Every dollar goes to food, classrooms, materials, musicians, and the small emergencies that keep a family afloat. Here is what your gift does, and how to give.
What a gift does.

A family's Nowruz or Yalda basket — the rice, herbs, fruit and sweets the night calls for.

One child's term of online Farsi classes: ten weeks, a workbook, a reader and a teacher.

- Directed gifts
- You can direct a gift to the relief fund, Farsi classes, newcomer support, human rights programs or a specific festival. Tell us in the note.
- In honour or in memory
- We'll send a card to the person or family you name, in Persian or English.
- Employer matching
- Many employers match employee gifts to nonprofits. Ask your HR team, and send us the form.
- In kind
- Venue space, food, printing, sound equipment, winter coats, school supplies, Persian books for the library. Tell us what you have.
- Legacy
- A gift in your will keeps the table set for the next generation. Email us and we'll talk it through with you and your advisor.
Where the money goes.
- No salaries, no officeThe foundation is entirely volunteer-run. Overhead is insurance, banking fees and this website.
- Open booksOur annual financial summary is available to any donor who asks. Email info@norooz.ca.
- ReceiptsNorooz Foundation Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation. Ask us about the current status of charitable tax receipts before you give, and we'll tell you straight.
